Why we build interfaces with square corners

On this page
  1. Constraints speed up decisions
  2. Where it shows up

Our sites have no border radius. It started as taste and became a system: when every box is square, hierarchy has to come from spacing, hairlines and type, and those are the tools that scale.

Constraints speed up decisions

With radius off the table, nobody debates 6px versus 8px corners. The review conversation moves to what matters: rhythm, contrast, and whether the page reads in one pass.

Where it shows up

  • Cards separated by 1px hairlines instead of shadows
  • Chips and badges that read as labels, not buttons
  • Buttons whose weight comes from fill, not shape
